Somerville Open Studios 2014 – Thank you!

Shows
hi-im-maria

Me, looking exhausted (but actually feeling awesome!) after a very full weekend of Somerville Open Studios

It was a pleasure and an honor to welcome so many people into my studio this weekend for Somerville Open Studios 2014. So many of you came by to see what I’ve been up to, give me feedback and support.  I am so bolstered by everyone’s encouragement and enthusiasm for what I’m doing in my little Comics Bunker at Mad Oyster Studios!

For everyone that came by and asked about my work: THANK YOU!

For anyone who wants to get updates about major publications or events, I have started an email list that you can join right here:

(I will email you very, very infrequently, less than once a month, if not even way less than that)

Admittedly I was very nervous to participate in my very first Somerville Open Studios, but now that I’ve been through this amazing experience, I already can’t wait to do it again next year.

I’m just getting started — can’t wait to show you all what I’ve got in store!

Join me for Somerville Open Studios!

I’m opening my studio doors for Somerville Open Studios 2014, May 3 and 4! I’m a proud member of the fantastic art community at Mad Oyster Studios in east Somerville, right by City Hall, and this will be my first year participating in Somerville Open Studios (aka SOS — See Our Studios!)

Mad Oyster Studios is stop #100 of the Somerville Open Studios sites (see the SOS website for more detail if you don’t know what this means), and I am in studio G7 with Jonathan Rich. Here’s my profile on the Somerville Open Studios website if you want more information about the location and how to get there by trolley.

SOS2014I’ll have my recent work up on display, as well as a show-and-tell of the comic book making process.  You’ll walk away from my studio learning a little something — peeking behind the curtain and learning a bit about the magic of Comic Book Publishing. OoooOoh! I might even have a few prints and comics available for sale, we’ll see.

Some folks in Mad Oyster Studios are going to be open for the Friday night preview — officially I am not; however, if you are in the building and want to stop by, I’ll be in situ setting up, so you are free to stop on by (just be aware that I won’t be fully set up).

Hope to see you there! Should be an awesome time!
